Here I sit at my Mac with my keyboard and for the first time in a long time, I’m going to sit and write down my honest thoughts. For no one’s benefit other than my own.

I’ve been neglecting Tumblr for a while as I’ve been so busy but I’m stuck in a rut, a mental block and a lack of motivation, like I’m on a journey and there’s something blocking my path, I’m unable to get past it and losing the will to keep on fighting it. I need to sit and reflect and move forward.

The problem? Being told time and time again that I’m “too creative and artistically talented” to work for companies I want to work for. I’m “too passionate and talented in Photography” to work for anyone. Being told this time and time again, 100’s of times, the exact same response for a full year now. I never thought being too good at something would hinder my choices.

The solution? Put my everything into Phase Magazine. It won’t be perfect, it won’t be amazing straight away and it won’t be easy but obviously it’s my passion and I’m being rejected so much to the point of giving up for that exact reason. Never stop trying because this is what I’ve been working towards for years, I’ve put my night and day into it, all my energy and it will get there eventually, it won’t be like this forever.

Sometimes in life you have 100 obstacles thrown at you all at once and you feel demotivated and you say no to everything because you’re too scared and you avoid situations but good things can only happen if you say yes. If you give up all hope and stop trying then nothing will get better and nothing will be resolved.

Write down your goals and dreams and work out a plan on how to achieve them, look at it every day to stay motivated towards that goal. That is what I will do from now on.
